A princess wakes up trapped in an unfamiliar place. She has been kidnapped and needs to escape. Once free she realizes she's been taken across the country to a place where she can only half understand the people. She attempt to travel back north to her land while her friends concurrently search the country for her. The political intentions of several separatist groups, each with their own relation to the kidnapping, are revealed. A political drama at the beginning of the 20th century.
Kauri
Princess to a kingdom in north India that kept it's sovereignty by allying with Britain, acting as a military station. Her mother died giving birth to her. Kauri's gold gauntlets are proof of her royal lineage. She's been given consecutively bigger cuffs as she grew and the current ones aren't coming off unless you cut her arms.

HyderKauri's personal guard. He was chosen by Kauri in her teenage years from a large group of potential candidates. His father was originally also in the army but died in battle, leaving his family poor. It was imperative for him to try to ease the burden on his family. Kauri chose him not for his fighting ability, he was quite mediocre, but for leaving a humorous impression on her. He is to act as her guard and as her representative in war. Kauri didn't care, she never thought her kingdom would go to war and instead chose someone who she thought she would be able to stand. Now they are the best of friends. After being Kauri's official guard, he genuinely got good combat. He hates the official uniform for him and instead walks around in only pants like some village boy, sword in hand. However, he keeps the gauntlets which represent his relationship to Kauri.
